As an artist, studio work is my primary focus of study. However, I pursue other creative interests through my commitments outside of strictly studio art. Currently, I serve as the Creative Director for ZIPPED Magazine, working with the executive board to develop the creative and visual direction for both the print and digital platforms of the magazine. These responsibilities also involve utilizing printmaking and graphic design skills to support the creation of tangible products.
My approach to creating is deliberately abstract, allowing the concept itself to guide my design decisions. I work across a range of mediums, with a particular focus on printmaking, photography, and graphic design. Though these disciplines vary in their formal qualities, I find they complement and elevate one another, often converging in ways that make the work more dynamic and multi-dimensional.
I aim to create work that pulls the viewer into an uncomfortable or dissociative space—something that is less about evoking a specific emotion, and more about shifting something from the internal, mental realm into the visual one. I want the experience of viewing the work to feel as strange and compelling as the process of its creation.
