“(MJP) Mango juul pods”Relief print carving (MDF), Paper, Fabric 09–22–2024
“Mango juul pods” (the name of my AirPod headphones) is a relief print carving with a subject of morphing components. “(MJP)” illustrates the way different music affects the brain. Oftentimes, the way I interact with music is mental. Songs affect my focus, feelings, and way of thinking.  The transitional prints show the flow between music that is softer and peaceful to more intense and uncomfortable.

“(MJP)” has a corresponding audio track, going through each stage of music that matches the stage in the print (see bottom). During the carving process, I strictly listened to music the music for each stage. I allowed myself to feel the affects of the song, naturally translating it to my lines and motion of the tools.

The prints could be displayed circularly, never stopping.  Each stage could progress in either direction, as shown in the fabric print (see right).
